MTN MoMo: another quick, easy and secure new payment method

How to create an MTN MoMo account

1. Dial *671# using your MTN SIM card

2. Enter 1 (Yes) to accept

3. Create a 4-digit PIN and re-enter it for confirmation

How to add funds to your MTN MoMo account from your bank account app

1. Log into your banking app and initiate a transfer
2. Enter your 10-digit MTN number as the recipient account (exclude the initial 0, eg 80xxxxxxxx)
3. Select MOMO PSB (or MoMo Payment Service Bank) as the receiving bank
4. Enter an amount and confirm the payment with your bank app credentials (PIN, token OTP or fingerprint)
5. MTN will message you confirming the transaction if it’s successful

Note: MTN MoMo payments may not be available on all banking apps

How to add funds to your MTN MoMo account through a registered agent

If MTN MoMo transfers aren’t available on your banking app, or you prefer making payments in person, you can visit a registered agent. Dial *223# for free to find one near you.

You can call MTN on 180 if you need further help adding funds to your MTN MoMo account.

How to deposit to betPawa using MTN MoMo

1. Log in to betPawa and then click this link

2. Enter an amount between ₦2 and ₦100,000 and click “DEPOSIT”

3. Read the SMS MTN send with instructions on confirming the payment

4. Dial *671*5*1# to approve the payment

5. Pick the betPawa transaction from the list provided (1 if it's your latest or only incomplete transaction)

6. Enter 1 (Yes) to approve and then your MoMo PIN: this should complete the transaction

How to withdraw from betPawa using MTN MoMo

1. Log in to betPawa and then click this link

2 Enter your withdrawal amount 

3. Pick the withdrawal option “MTN MoMo” and click “WITHDRAW”

Are MTN MoMo deposits the same as MTN Airtime?

No, these are separate deposit methods. You need an MTN MoMo account to make MTN MoMo deposits. MTN Airtime deposits can be made here and are subject to a 20% fee.
