What is Airtel SmartCash?

Airtel Africa launched SmartCash Payment Service Bank (PSB) to provide secure and reliable financial services across Nigeria. If you have an Airtel SIM, you can receive payments from any bank in Nigeria into your SmartCash wallet. Using it to deposit and withdraw with betPawa is safe, simple and swift.

How to create an Airtel SmartCash account

USSD

1. Dial *939#

2. Follow the instructions to register

3. Set your PIN

4. Set your preferred security question

App

1. Download the SmartCash PSB app from Google Play Store or the Apple App Store

2. Enter your mobile number

3. Enter your OTP

How to add funds to your Airtel SmartCash wallet

USSD

1. Dial *939#

2. Pick Option 1 for “Add Money”

3. Find a nearby SmartCash agent and give them the amount to be credited

4. Provide the mobile number to be funded

5. Once you receive an SMS, confirm the payment

Bank App

1. Open your regular bank app

2. Enter the amount you want to add

3. Use your mobile number as your account number

4. Search for SmartCash PSB

5. Enter your PIN to complete the transfer

Note: You can't use Airtime to add funds to your Airtel SmartCash wallet

How to deposit to betPawa using Airtel SmartCash

1. Log in to betPawa and then click this link

2. Enter your deposit amount (anything between ₦100 and ₦100,000) 

3. Enter your PIN when prompted to confirm the payment

How to withdraw from betPawa using Airtel SmartCash

1. Log in to betPawa and then click this link

2. Enter your withdrawal amount (anything between ₦100 and ₦100,000) 

3. Pick the withdrawal option “Airtel”

4. Click “Withdraw”

Can I use MTN Airtime to deposit to betPawa using Airtel SmartCash?

No, Airtel SmartCash deposits require an Airtel SIM so can't be made using an MTN SIM or Airtime. However, MTN users can continue to make Airtime deposits separate to SmartCash.
